Title: Public places transformation for sustainable urban landscape

Aim and Scope
The development of international tourism led to a huge transformation of urban mobility and landscape, affecting especially their historical centres. Besides the renewal of social and economic activities, the emblematic public places, streets, squares and gardens, share different kind of needs, both formal and functional.
To face these challenges, the local authorities and stakeholders are trying to manage the conflicts between users and preserve their heritage values. This special session welcomes research evidence from interdisciplinary areas, as architecture, planning or geography, in a framework of digital and energy transitions, to debate case studies and the evolution of these public places.
