PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Prehistory (2013). Having previously completed the DEA in Archeology, Ancient History and Historiographical Sciences and Techniques, and in 1998, the Degree in History – Educational Branch, at the University of Porto.
Presently is the Director of Admissions and Student Suport Services at Portucalense University.
Between 2005 and 2018 she actively integrated the research team of 5 R&D projects, four of which European projects and one national project (FCT).
Since 2003 she is an external researcher of the Arqueoloxía e Ecoloxía do Fenómeno Megalítico galego Research Group of the Department of History I of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
She has published about archeological heritage, earthen architectura and vernacular architecture. As a second line of research she has published about gender and architecture.
Between 2007 and 2012, she was a member of another Research Group, Paisagens, Fronteiras e Poderes, of the CITCEM (Transdisciplinary Research Centre for Culture, Space and Memory) at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho.
Currently participates in the 3DPast project, which explores the use of artistic and multimedia tools as a way to enhance the knowledge, appreciation and safeguard of vernacular architecture, included in UNESCO World Heritage sites.
During the last 20 years, she developed a career as a university professor, during which he taught different curricular units within the scope of the History of Architecture and Urbanism. Since 2013, develops activities of orientation and accompaniment of master’s dissertations in Architecture and Urbanism. It is noteworthy that 3 of which were distinguished in national (2 dissertations) and international (1 dissertation) awards.
At the same time, she has developed tasks of university extension, scientific divulgation and economic and social valorisation of knowledge. Having participated actively in the organization of congresses and other scientific meetings, of which the organization of two international congresses (SIACOT2005 and CIAV2013), one of national scope (10ª Mesa Redonda de Primavera: Terra: Formas de construir, Arquitectura – Antropologia – Arqueologia) and another one of regional scope (Jornadas de Reabilitação Urbana de Viana do Castelo). Throughout her career, she has been part of the different statutory bodies of the Escola Superior Gallaecia and, recently at UPT: Scientific Council, Pedagogical Council.
